Mystery is a large, early-stage exploration property prospective for copper, gold and silver. The project comprises 14 mineral claims covering 12,193 hectares in the Shelford Hills area west of Oosta Lake, on the western side of the Nechako plateau. Mystery is 30 km northeast of the inacative Huckleberry Cu mine and 15km south of the historical Silver Queen deposit.
Topography in the area is characterized by a distinct series of rolling hills rising to some 400m above the surrounding plains, forming a roughly circular area 12 kilometres in diameter.
The hills are composed largely of andesitic volcanic rocks underlain or intruded by a series of monzonite and granodiorite stocks. Alteration in the form of pyritization and tourmalinization of the volcanics in the area is recognized in certain zones, often coincident with anomalous geochemistry. Previous operators saw potential for low-intermediate sulphidation epithermal gold-silver +/- base metals as well as potential for porphyry copper deposits at depth.
